SRY Rail Link Civil Works
About the Program
JPD Contracting was engaged by SRY Rail Link to deliver full civil construction services to support site upgrades at their Trapp Avenue facility. The project required careful planning and execution due to the proximity of existing rail infrastructure, operational constraints, and strict design tolerances.

															Scope of Work
					 1. Surveying & Site Preparation

Our team began by locating the existing SRY Rail Link building to confirm spatial separation requirements. A detailed topographic survey was carried out to map existing pathways, driving aisles, parcel boundaries, and spot elevations within the proposed slab area. This survey provided critical data for design coordination and ensured compliance with site constraints.
					 2. Excavation & Soil Management

Excavation was completed in accordance with project drawings, with soil samples taken and tested for contamination. As contaminated disposal was assumed, all materials were safely removed and transported to approved facilities. Temporary wood shoring was installed using ¾” plywood and timber framing to stabilize the excavation area during works.
					 3. Structural Concrete Works

The prepared subgrade was compacted using a 6.5-ton vibratory roller before the installation of reinforcing steel in multiple sizes (15mm, 25mm, and 30mm) as per engineered drawings. Concrete was supplied by truck with a specified compressive strength of 30 MPa. A linear pump was used for placement, followed by mechanical vibration and surface finishing to achieve the required durability and performance standards.
					 4. Storm Drainage Installation

A complete storm drainage system was installed, including a Watts CB-2424-D catch basin with sand trap, coordinated with Enginuity Engineering Consulting. All components were installed per engineered design to ensure long-term functionality and compliance with environmental requirements.
					 5. Fencing & Site Security

To secure the project area, JPD supplied and installed a permanent chain-link fence system with 2 7/8” posts and 1 5/8” top and bottom rails. In addition, temporary site fencing was erected during construction, consisting of free-standing 6’ x 10’ interlocking welded panels, with walking gates provided at designated entry points for personnel access.
					 6. Asphalt Paving & Final Works

Final grading and base compaction were carried out before the installation of 9,255 SF of hot mix asphalt (75mm UC #2). This provided a durable finished surface for vehicular and operational use inside the chain-link perimeter.
General Conditions
- Mobilization and demobilization of all equipment and crews
- Daily and final site cleanup
- Supply of all labor, tools, and machinery required to complete the work
- Compliance with project permits and safety requirements
- Close-out documentation and project warrantie
Outcome
The project was successfully delivered on schedule and in alignment with engineering specifications. By managing surveying, excavation, concrete, drainage, fencing, and paving in-house, JPD Contracting provided a seamless delivery approach that ensured quality, safety, and long-term functionality for SRY Rail Link’s operational needs.
